An example of a PRIMARY source that I used is the letter from soldier William Norton. It is considered primary because Norton was an eyewitness and experienced the civil war firsthand. I know this source is reliable because I found it on a database. Typically, information that comes from a database is reliable.
An example of a SECONDARY source that I used is an article titled "Harriet Beecher Stowe's Life". It is considered secondary because it just states facts about things that happened in Stowe's life. It is reliable because it was written by members of an organization that is all about Harriet Beecher Stowe.

Nat Turner did what he felt he needed to do, and his movement was for the greater good. The article titled Nat Turner's Fierce Rebellion stated, "It turned out to be the bloodiest slave revolt in Southern history, one that was to have a profound and irrevocable impact on the destinies of Southern whites and blacks alike." Even though, the slave revolt that Nat Turner led resulted in a lot of bloodshed, it was a very big step forward in freeing the slaves. It made believe think about what they were doing on a moral level. Slavery dehumanizes African-Americans and denies them of the freedom that everyone should have. Anything that led to the demise of slavery was well worth the cost.
